Cozy Gurl Club: Kelly

I met Kelly Peacock at a birthday party in some Brooklyn bar a little over a year ago. I’d arrived a little earlier than I intended and kept shuffling between the dance floor, the bar, and the bar’s backyard patio while scanning for friends to collect. Embarrassing. Eventually I settled for a bench in the patio, where I started gulping down bourbon and scrolling through my phone.

Thankfully a mutual friend came through the back door a minute later and introduced me to Kelly and a few others. When I asked what she did—(poetry)—I pulled up her feed and started reading them while conversations around me kept flowing. Wow, this gal’s impressive. Every poem felt weighty and poignant and lush. I became an instant fan.

A few weeks later, we were able to get together to shoot some cozy vibes for fun and these photos were some of my favorites.
