Brekky with Ashley

Two of my favorite things: hotel room service breakfast and Ashley Graves.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Ashley 5 or 6 times throughout the last few years in NYC and LA, and I’ve always come away from our shoots thinking it can’t get any better than this. I think we work together really well, even when we’re just going for something super casual and relaxed, like in this shoot.

So some context: once or twice a year (pre-pandemic), I’ll treat myself to a staycation at a nice hotel, order lots of room service, hit the hotel lounge for drinks, wear the bathrobe and fill up the tub with bubz, basically the whole 9 yards. Usually this happens after fashion week, when I”m completely burned out and in need of a break.

This particular time, I was given a great room overlooking the High Line in the Meatpacking District and I wanted a reason to take some photos. I called up Ashley and she was down to link up and collaborate again. I threw in the promise of a rad hotel breakfast as a thank you, and she went for waffles with creme and berries, orange juice, and coffee. I think I got a challah bananas foster French toast and coffee. Super luxurious breakfast.

So this was just an excuse for two collaborators to get together, eat some dank breakfast, and take some cozy photos in a cute hotel. Even still, Ashley was fantastic as always and these are some of my favorite ‘cozy gurl’ photos we’ve ever done.
